Wapoos Sibi is a paradise for fishermen: its exclusive territory counts 44 unspoiled lakes, trout pools and fast water fishing on more than 60 square miles (100 km2) in Northern Quebec’s pristine boreal forest ! All our game fish live in a natural habitat of clean and drinkable water ! This superb trout fishing is unique in Quebec ! Our trout are all natural and there is no stocking; our quotas allow you to go back home with a fine selection of game fish ! You can practice different types of fishing: fly-fishing (see our special section for fly-fishermen), spin and bait casting, trolling… LAKE TROUT: The favorite of trout fishing amateurs, these massive beauties can grow to 42 pounds at Wapoos Sibi. Some have been caught on the Fly, or deep trolling with downriggers. Using the natural bait fish of the area, the Chub minnow can also be very effective, as well as crank baits, spinners and spoons. SPECKLED TROUT: All 44 of our lakes contain this beautiful fighting fish, some of which may grow to 7 pounds. Whether you spin cast, fly fish, or enjoy bouncing a worm along the bottom, these speckled beauties will put you to the test! These are all natural, wild fish, and also inhabit our rivers and streams, some of which are set aside for fly-fishing only. Several lakes have the "Quebec Red Trout" , a subspecies of the Speckled Trout; it is extremely colourful with a red belly, a truly fine trophy! |
