Superb Trout fishing

QUEBEC RED TROUT:

The Quebec Red Trout is very rare in Canada. It can be found only in northeastern Canada, mainly in the Province of Quebec and particularly at Wapoos Sibi. The Quebec Red Trout is a distinctive cousin of the Eastern Brook Trout or Speckled Trout (Salvelinus Fontinalis). Although the Quebec Red Trout is a member of the Char family, it does not enter salt or brackish seawater to feed and it is definitly not a Char. In Canada, there is also some confusion among anglers who mistakenly call the Quebec Red Trout a land-locked Char. But it is not the case. The Quebec Red Trout has and live only in cold, oxygenated and fresh water, just like the lakes of Wapoos Sibi.

SPECKLED TROUT:

All 44 of our lakes contain this beautiful fighting fish, some of which may grow to 7-8 pounds. Whether you spin cast, fly fish, or enjoy bouncing a worm along the bottom, these speckled beauties will put you to the test! These are all natural, wild fish, and also inhabit our rivers and streams, some of which are set aside for fly-fishing only. Several lakes have the "Quebec Red Trout" , a subspecies of the Speckled Trout; it is extremely colourful with a red belly, a truly fine trophy!

LAKE TROUT:

The favorite of trout fishing amateurs, these massive beauties can grow up to 40 pounds at Wapoos Sibi. Some can be caught on the Fly or deep trolling with downriggers. Using the natural bait fish of the area, the Chub minnow can also be effective as well as crank baits, spinners and spoons.
